A wonderful specialist SEN school in Merton are seeking a Pastoral and Careers Lead to join their team on a permanent basis. The school is seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic person who has a strong commitment to pastoral development, taking responsibility for the pastoral welfare of students. It is desirable for the candidate to have qualifications relating to careers guidance within schools and to have the knowledge and understanding of the concepts and skills essential for success for students within the field of careers and PSHE.
The successful Pastoral and Careers Lead will need to have demonstrable experience of working effectively with vulnerable children as well as experience of working with their parents or carers. The role requires engagement with hard to reach and disaffected students as well as their families in order to raise attendance, aspirations and promote positive attitudes towards education. The ideal Pastoral and Careers Lead will also develop and implement an effective strategy for providing comprehensive careers advice to students ensuring that students are equipped to face the demands and challenges of life beyond school.
