Business Analyst Manager

The General Dental Council (GDC) is undergoing an exciting period of business transformation with a raft of major organisational change projects, and is recruiting a Business Analyst Manager to lead the Business Analyst function. You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis and in return you will receive a competitive salary of £52,317-£61,549 per annum.

We offer hybrid working with 2 days min per week in the office.

You will lead and develop a team of Business Analysts to plan, design, develop, and launch efficient business analysis strategies, in support of core organisational functions and business processes. This includes gathering and analysing data in support of business cases, proposed projects, and systems requirements. Along with being responsible for generating and compiling reports based on the findings, complete with probable causes and possible solutions to systems issues.

This individual will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help maximize the benefit of IT system investments.

This role is know internally as Lead Business Analyst.

The role:

Strategy & Planning

  • Meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business, regulatory, and technical requirements to inform the delivery of key business change projects.
  • Help identify and resolve systems issues related to the delivery of new or existing change projects.
  • Lead design sessions in prototyping new systems for the purpose of enhancing business processes, operations, and information process flow.
  • Review and analyse the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
  • Identify and establish scope and parameters of systems analysis in order to define outcome criteria and measure-taking actions.

Acquisition & Deployment

  • Collaborate in the planning, design, development, and deployment of new applications, and enhancements to existing applications.
  • Conduct research on software and hardware products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts.

Operational Management

  • Prepare and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives that address existing and potential trouble areas in operating systems across the organization.
  • Create system design proposals.
  • Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions.
  • Ensure compatibility and interoperability of in-house computing systems.
  • Create systems models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to system programmers.
  • Lead on the IT Change Management process. Be responsible for the management of the IT Change Advisory Board, coordinate and administer the IT Change Request process.

  • Expertise in building and leading a BA function (essential)
  • Strong and robust stakeholder management including excellent verbal communication, interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to articulate with credibility and conviction (essential)
  • Experience of leadership in a management role – challenging others to develop whilst serving as a role model and mentor. Inspire the team to attaining goals and pursue excellence. (essential)
  • Analytical skills and ability to interpret and present data effectively from qualitative and quantitative data from a wide range of sources including MS Excel/PowerBI
  • Process improvements liaising with all parts of the business.
  • Ability to think logically, has a demonstrated track record of researching and investigating issues and problem-solving. This will include analysing problems; identify solution criteria and producing a range of options to solve issues and implementing the best fit.
