Import clerk Farnborough based £28.000 - £32.000 Per annum
We are looking for an experienced Import Clerk to join our well-established client in the farnborough area. The successful candidate will handle import operations, ensuring smooth customs procedures and documentation for the company.
This role is a fully office-based role, where you will be expected to get on and do what you are good at. Our client is a freight forwarding, warehousing & logistics business that is making freight & storage for a competitive price tag.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process import shipments and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Manage customs declarations using the Customs Declaration Service (CDS)
- Liaise with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and transport companies to coordinate efficient movement of goods.
- Handle shipment documentation, including bills of lading and invoices.
- Communicate with suppliers and customers to resolve any import-related issues.
- Maintain accurate records of import transactions.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in handling imports.
- Proficient in using CDS for customs clearance.
- Strong understanding of import procedures and regulations.
- Experience in multimodal transport (air, sea, road) is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
- Knowledge of Sequoia an advantage.
