Job Title: Business Analyst
Location: Edinburgh/Bristol
Contract: 6 months with a view of extension
Rate: Circa £550 per day via Umbrella PAYE

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join my high-profile Banking Client in either Edinburgh or Bristol. The primary focus of this role is to lead the decommissioning of a legacy platform, which is currently still in use but scheduled for removal by 2026. This critical project involves moving internal accounts off the platform by next year to facilitate its shutdown.
Key Responsibilities:
- Legacy Platform Decommissioning: Lead the decommissioning process for the legacy platform, ensuring all activities transition smoothly to new systems.
- File Redesign and Rerouting: Analyze and redesign files currently integrated into the legacy platform from various systems, ensuring seamless rerouting to new destinations.
- Process Redefinition: Work closely with the architecture team to understand and define new processes for file handling and payment flows.
- Payment Scheme Expertise: Develop a deep understanding of various payment schemes (BACS, CHAPS, Faster Payments) and how they flow through the system.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders, to ensure alignment and effective communication.
Requirements:
- Experience in Financial Services: Proven experience in the financial services industry, particularly within banking and payments.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of file rerouting, file redesign, and technical aspects of platform decommissioning.
- Payment Systems Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of payment schemes including BACS, CHAPS, and Faster Payments.
- Stakeholder Management: Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and manage multiple stakeholders, including technical teams.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to understand and redesign complex processes.
