Warehouse & Logistics Supervisor

The Thrive Group are seeking an experienced Warehouse & Logistics Supervisor who will be responsible for supervising employees in Health and safety, production servicing, goods location, and stock movements and ensuring all logistics are taken care of. The supervisor will also ensure that delivery procedures, both internal and external, are followed accurately and on time.

This is a challenging role within a high volume, fast-moving warehouse operation in which you will supervise a team of warehouse and/or agency workers to achieve daily targets, paying attention to accuracy and labour efficiency.

Typical responsibilities will include:

  • Providing direction, leadership, and supervision to the Warehouse team in compliance with company policies to deliver a high level of productivity through effective resource planning and subsequent task assignment.
  • Collaborating with other operation teams to ensure the Warehouse is prepared and functional to provide a comprehensive service regarding stock movements of materials, components, and finished goods.
  • Ensuring that the warehouse is organised and prepared for incoming and outgoing deliveries and that all goods receipts are checked and assigned to designated holding/storage areas.
  • Planning resource levels and adjusting accordingly to meet holiday, absence, and workload fluctuations.
  • Responsible for employee Health and Safety supervision, including organising and participating in regular safety inspections and audits of working practices, storage infrastructure, and equipment.
  • Ensuring the Warehouse teams adhere to all mandatory systems of operations and procedures, contributing to their continuous improvement and driving change when required.
  • Utilising the Warehouse training matrix to evaluate team performance, identifying and agreeing on training requirements of individuals.
  • Organise and participate in stock count activities, ensuring that stock accuracy is maintained.
  • Lead activity relating to the Warehouse housekeeping, inclusive of external storage areas, providing and maintaining a clean, tidy, and free-from-hazard environment.
  • Monitor and control service levels of FLTs and HGV service/MOT to provide full operational capacity.

Knowledge, skills, and experience required:

  • Experience in leading, directing, and supervising a diverse team in a Warehouse environment.
  • Awareness of Health and Safety requirements and standards in a busy, fast-moving operation.
  • Demonstrable ability with operational improvements and driving change.
  • A good understanding of dynamic stock movements and dynamic storage operations.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good level of literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Familiar with stock movement system requirements and Microsoft Office software applications.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • A flexible approach, adaptable to change and views the role as an opportunity to develop.

  • Working rotating shift patterns

  • 06:00 - 14.00

  • 14:00 - 22.00

  • £15.21ph - £16.45ph depending on experience

  • 23 days paid holiday entitlement (inclusive of statutory holidays)
