We are seeking a Vocational Tutor to join our Education and Skills team. This role involves developing, promoting, delivering, and assessing training to maximise learning outcomes for students. As one of the largest providers of skills and training in the UK, we are dedicated to supporting businesses and individuals with apprenticeships, higher education, and commercial training. Day-to-day of the role:

  • Carry out initial and ongoing assessments to ensure students are on the right programme and receiving the appropriate level of support.
  • Plan and design training programmes, including the development of schemes of work and lesson plans, ensuring differentiation of learning.
  • Utilise new technologies effectively, including the development of learning programmes on SoL-VE and the use of webinars/Skype to meet market demands and enhance the learning experience.
  • Deliver high-quality, engaging training to encourage learner attendance, retention, and achievement.
  • Manage the safe evacuation of students in emergencies, adhering to company procedures and ensuring that health and safety protocols are followed.
  • Prepare students for assignments or tests/exams where appropriate, aiming to maintain high success rates.
  • Mark and assess students' work, provide structured feedback, and set development objectives.
  • Act as Programme Leader for specific awards, responsible for admissions, coordination of tutor resources, and programme evaluation (applicable to HE tutors).

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • IT skills, including the ability to use technology to support learning delivery.
  • Motivating and inspiring attitude with a flexible approach.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to organise workload effectively.
  • Relevant teaching qualifications such as PGCE, PGDE, Cert Ed, DTLLS.
  • Industry experience in a specialist area and familiarity with T&L quality standards, especially Ofsted.
  • At least 1-2 years' teaching experience, with expertise in working with special needs and challenging behaviour where necessary.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the specialist subject area and professional qualifications as appropriate.
  • Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities, including emergency evacuation procedures.
