Housing & Rent Arrears Support initially a 6 month- fixed term contract Salary: £30k pro rata Working hours - Full time - Monday to Friday Location -East London

Immediate opportunity for and experienced Housing and Rent Arrears Assistant to join a leading housing company situated in East London, who provide excellent support to the local residents of this dynamic housing company. As a company they provide high quality affordable social housing and privately rented homes

On joining and being an integral part of a small, dedicated team , you will be responsible for promoting a culture of timely payments and managing the rent arrears process across all tenures.

You will be office based , this role will not involve office visits , the purpose of this role is to support and assist with outstanding rent arrears.

Responsibilities and Role purpose:

  • Liaise with residents re-outstanding rent arrears
  • Draft and serve Notices of Seeking Possession (NOSPs) and initiating legal proceedings.
  • Produce regular Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports.
  • Dealing with all Rent applications
  • Deal with a variety of administration
  • Building effective effective, relationships with internal and external partners at all times

About You:

  • You need the ability to work on your own initiative , be confident in dealing with a variety of people
  • Strong working knowledge of legislation and regulatory requirements relevant to income management in both social housing and the private sector.
  • High level of numeracy and literacy.
  • Understanding of health and safety responsibilities, including lone working.
  • Experience with Microsoft applications and computerized Housing Rents applications.
  • Proven ability to build effective relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of best practices in income management and debt collection.
  • Strong understanding of social housing issues.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of best practices in income management and debt collection.
  • Proficiency in using Excel spreadsheets and housing management software (e.g., Yardi, Landlord Portal for Universal Credit, and Landlord Portal for Housing Benefit software packages).
  • Previous Housing background required for this role

Excellent working conditions , initially this role is a 6 month contract with the opportunity to be extended
