Purchasing Account Manager

Reed Business Support are seeking an enthusiastic Purchasing Account Manager to join our clients established team during a period of rapid growth. This role is crucial for facilitating the next stage of our clients expansion plans and requires a proactive individual with a keen eye for detail and strong negotiation skills.

Day to day of the role:

  • Monitor stock levels and identify purchasing needs, running and compiling daily stock reports.
  • Coordinate and manage enquiries and quotations with suppliers, negotiate prices, and progress with recommendations and proposals.
  • Process orders and communicate with suppliers regarding product and quantity requirements.
  • Schedule orders to meet production needs and ensure continuity of required stock levels.
  • Direct and monitor the management of special and direct delivery purchase orders, ensuring all orders are processed and reported back to the sales team and customers as required.
  • Follow up with suppliers to confirm or change orders and communicate any updates to PO's and inventory to the sales team.
  • Track orders to ensure timely delivery and liaise with warehouse staff to ensure all products are collected or delivered in good condition.
  • Assist with tracking and customs clearance procedures for overseas orders.
  • Adhere to procedures and policies when analysing situations or data to determine appropriate action.
  • Book in deliveries and goods, notifying relevant channels of any discrepancies with supplier goods.
  • Maintain the supplier information document and review supplier prices regularly.
  • Assist the Operations Manager and Purchasing Supervisor with other duties as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience within a purchasing role.
  • Good negotiating skills.
  • Strong and effective communication skills, both verbal and nonverbal.
  • Exceptional organisational skills with an attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage workloads, and resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Flexibility to manage and adapt to change.
  • Positive attitude in challenging situations.
  • Problem-solving skills to find solutions and make decisions.
  • Excellent IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office.
