Estate & Service Area Operative

Salary - £28k

Shift - 12hr days, four on - four off

The Estate & Service Area Operative's role is to guarantee that our client's building stands out as the premier residential development in Canary Wharf. This is achieved by maintaining the estate areas, ensuring the service bay runs smoothly, and managing refuse/recycling collection in accordance with the established service standards and operational procedures. It is essential that each resident and visitor receives a distinctive service experience and feels valued.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Act as an ambassador for Aspen and Consort Place, providing outstanding customer service and support.
  • During the phased handover, assist the management team and concierge in ensuring a smooth move-in process for residents, supervising the arrival and unloading of removal vehicles in the service area and providing access to necessary areas of the development.
  • Provide access to the service area for residents moving out.
  • Ensure that refuse and recycling bins are moved to the collection points on designated days, maintain regular deep cleaning of bin stores, and keep waste chutes clean and free from blockages.
  • Oversee bulky waste storage and collection.
  • Collaborate with security and concierge to oversee the daily receipt and dispatch of resident packages.
  • Support all deliveries and collections for the Dorsett Hotel, educational facilities, and commercial units, including daily linen and food/beverage supplies.
  • Maintain all front and back of house lighting, replacing bulbs or reporting faults as needed.
  • Perform routine and periodic cleaning of estate areas, including pressure washing and deep cleaning.
  • Conduct regular basic checks on communal plants/systems (training will be provided).
  • Build strong relationships with all stakeholders, nurturing shared values.
  • Excel in your role by adhering to our Service Pillars and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Comprehend all relevant emergency procedures, such as fire evacuation, and act as a Fire Marshal (training will be provided).
  • Support the implementation of the Building Safety Act 2022, ensuring the safety of everyone living, visiting, and working on the property.
  • Additionally, you may be asked to undertake any other reasonable duties as required

Desirable skills:

  • Previous experience as an estate, service bay or maintenance operative.
  • Able to work to a schedule of routine daily/weekly/monthly tasks.
  • Desire to deliver the highest level of customer service.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
