Special Needs Learning Support Assistant

Join our team as a SEND Learning Support Assistant based in the South Leeds area, starting September 2024. This role offers the opportunity to work in multiple schools, providing valuable support across different year groups.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialised support to learners with SEND, ensuring their educational and personal development needs are met.
  • Support learners during 1:1 and group sessions
  • Manage and respond to challenging behaviours with appropriate strategies and interventions.
  • Assist with personal care needs as required, maintaining the dignity and respect of learners.
  • Collaborate with the team to create a safe and nurturing learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Strong background in working with SEND learners.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Team Teach training (preferred but not essential).
  • Compassionate, patient, and resilient with the ability to manage challenging behaviours.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, showing initiative and flexibility.
