About the Role

Are you ready to dive into a dynamic role where your analytical skills can make a real impact? As a Water Events Analyst, you'll be at the heart of our Monitoring & Control team, reporting directly to the Water Events Manager. Your mission? To ensure the smooth operation of our water network by managing reactive events and planned interruptions with precision and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Event Management: Take charge of reactive events, incidents, and planned interruptions, ensuring they are managed seamlessly from start to finish.
  • Real-Time Coordination: Be the go-to person for real-time event and incident information, coordinating efforts to keep everything on track.
  • Data Accuracy: Capture and report all corporate and regulatory data with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proactive Monitoring: Use telemetry and customer data to spot potential issues before they become problems, ensuring uninterrupted supply.
  • Performance Analysis: Identify deviations from performance targets and generate actionable triggers.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Dive deep into data using various systems to uncover root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Water Quality Management: Oversee water quality events, both reactively and proactively, ensuring the highest standards are maintained.
  • GIS Support: Ensure accurate capture of supply interruptions for post-event validation and provide constructive feedback to field staff.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere to our stringent health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Operational Stability: Ensure operations return to a steady state based on real-time data.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Keep all relevant business areas informed about events and incidents.

What We're Looking For

  • Analytical Prowess: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, especially with technical issues.
  • Event Expertise: In-depth knowledge of water event triggers and processes.
  • Stakeholder Savvy: Understanding of key stakeholders affected by events and incidents.
  • Incident Management: Familiarity with escalation processes and incident procedures within the ICC and water network.
  • Regulatory Insight: Knowledge of the regulatory framework and Operational Delivery Incentives (ODI).
  • SLA Mastery: Detailed understanding of service level agreements across the water network.
  • Standards Knowledge: Clear grasp of the guaranteed standards scheme (GSS).
  • System Proficiency: High competence in using INS systems and relevant water network corporate systems.
  • Technical Acumen: Strong technical understanding of the water network, with the ability to extract, analyse, and interpret data.
  • Organisational Skills: Excellent ability to organise, plan, and prioritise tasks.
  • Educational Background: Minimum of GCSE level education, including a grade 'C' or above in English and Mathematics.

Working Hours

This is a part-time vacancy working an average of 17.4 hours per week, including evenings and weekends. The schedule is as follows:

  • Week 1 (15.4 hours): 2 x 6-10pm shifts (weekday evenings) and 1 x weekend shift (either 7am-3pm or 2pm-10pm on Saturday).
  • Week 2 (19.4 hours): 3 x 6-10pm shifts (weekday evenings) and 1 x weekend shift (either 7am-3pm or 2pm-10pm on Sunday).

A rota will be provided on a 12-week basis so you will know your upcoming shifts in advance.
