About Us
We're Imperial Health Charity, an organisation that helps our hospitals do more through grants, arts, volunteering, and fundraising. We support the five hospitals of Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust: Charing Cross, Hammersmith, Queen Charlotte's & Chelsea, St Mary's, and the Western Eye.
In partnership with Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, we have developed a volunteering programme that supports our local community to develop their knowledge and ability to increase their employability skills, access employment opportunities within health and social care and engage in volunteering at our hospitals.
We are now looking for a Volunteering Officer to join us on a part-time basis, working 21 hours per week for a 12 month fixed term contract.

The Role
As a Volunteering Officer, you will support the recruitment, training and development of volunteers to enhance their employability prospects through our Volunteer Employability Programme.
Working in partnership with the NHS Trust, you will ensure that volunteers are well-prepared, confident and equipped with the necessary skills to transition into meaningful employment.
You will co-ordinate volunteer recruitment by managing advertising platforms, processing applications and overseeing vetting procedures.
Additionally, you will:
- Provide one-to-one coaching and support to volunteers
- Ensure volunteers complete necessary onboarding and ongoing training
- Provide logistical support for training sessions
- Track volunteer progress
- Contribute to policy development
- Assist in producing engaging content for newsletters and communications
About You
To be considered as a Volunteering Officer, you will need:
- Experience of working in the employment and skills sector
- Experience of providing one to one support or coaching
- Experience of charities and/or health related organisations
- Experience using motivational and action planning techniques to manage the progression of participants into sustainable work opportunities
- Experience presenting or delivering training to a variety of audiences
- An understanding of the local and regional labour market and employment issues
- The ability to manage, support and review a caseload
