Head of Finance & Operations

Our established and successful client, a leading not-for-profit organisation, are recruiting for a Head of Finance & Operations to join them on a permanent basis.

In this key strategic role, you work in partnership with the CEO, executive team, and the board to effectively manage the organisation's finances and core operational services in line with the overall organisational strategy, to continually implement growth.

This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to take the next step in their career and would suit someone with senior financial and operational expertise within the not-for-profit or public sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • As part of the leadership team, proactively support the management of the organisation.
  • Responsible for financial planning, budget and financial reporting.
  • Ensure effective operational support including the development of organisational systems that support staff to work effectively.
  • Continuously improve and manage financial processes including policies, procedures, and systems to ensure sound financial control.
  • Responsible for all financial reporting including preparing annual budget, quarterly reports, monthly management accounts and cashflow forecasting.
  • Responsible for all project fund reporting, income, budget planning, resources and staff planning.
  • Managing the annual audit, ensuring the preparation of the annual accounts and compliance with any audit recommendations.
  • Manage effective financial record keeping and reporting, including to the Board and external stakeholders.
  • Responsible for the delivery of all HR, H&S, Safeguarding and Office infrastructure policies & procedures, ensuring compliance with employment, company, and charity law.

We are seeking a candidate with:

  • ACA, CCAB or CIMA qualification or part qualification.
  • Proven experience of organisational financial management.
  • Proven ability to strategically lead on organisational development.
  • Experience of managing HR.
  • Highly developed communication skills both verbal and written.
