Purchasing & Logistics Administrator

Location: Maldon

£28,000 per annum

Purchasing, Logistics & Stores assistant required to join a business department in a local manufacturing business. This is a full time permanent role, working 8.30 - 5pm Monday - Friday.

You will join a team of 4 who oversee Stores, Purchasing & Logistics, reporting into the Procurement Manager. The ideal candidate will have a background in the administration of purchasing/ Stores / Planning and / or Shipping.

Day to Day Duties:

  • Process and monitor purchase requisitions for company Systems, including offshore manufacturing shipping and associated documents.
  • Progress purchase orders and coordinate with the finance department for invoicing upon completion.
  • Liaise with suppliers regarding stock levels, lead times, and pricing.
  • Assist with daily pick lists and packing, ensuring all shipments are adequately packaged for safe transit.
  • Participate in stocktaking activities and maintain accurate inventory of all finished goods in stock.
  • Organise finished goods for easy picking and maintain their condition.
  • Keep track of non-finished goods stock inventory and work with the Procurement Team to replenish stock as needed, ensuring shelf-life requirements are met.
  • Provide shipping information to the Sales team when requested.
  • Prepare parts for internal work instructions and coordinate with the relevant department.
  • Manage dispatch paperwork and customer-specific labelling requirements.
  • Work with couriers to expedite delivery and shipping as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate will have experience within purchasing / procurement or Stores within a support or admin role
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of programs.
  • Good understanding of MRP principles and use of internal systems.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
