An excellent opportunity for a Design Engineer to join the mechanical engineering team of 6 within the 40 strong R&D operation of a multinational award winning business which manufactures a range of electro mechanical and electronic products for the global test and measurement industry.
The duties of the Design Engineer will span design from concept to execution, research, prototyping, product testing, engineering documentation, estimating and process improvement.
You will collaborate with cross functional teams, including other Design Engineers and Project Managers, and act as a positive influence on less experienced, junior members of the team.
Degree (or equivalent) qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, you should have at least 12 months or so of post Grad experience behind you, ideally working as a Mechanical Designer in a product-based industry. The Design Engineer should have a good overall understanding of manufacturing processes, materials and standards and a successful track record in delivering successful manufacturing products and systems, as well as being competent in 3D modelling simulation and other relevant software.
Particularly useful (but not essential) experience would include Solidworks, sheet metal design, routing and cable design, 3D printing and some electronic or PCB design
