Laboratory Assistant
- Location: Thurrock, Essex
- Temporary role (maternity cover)
- Full-time, Monday to Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm
Reed Scientific are proud to be partnering with a leading materials and chemicals testing organisation who have an immediate opening for a temporary Laboratory Assistant in Thurrock. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with a scientific background to gain relevant experience.
Responsibilities:
- Logging in samples, entering test results, inputting data into LIMS and other laboratory systems as well as sample distribution to various laboratories
- Stock checking and managing laboratory consumables including purchase, storage and distribution, handling paperwork
- Checking sample deliveries meet MSDS/COSHH requirements
- Working in compliance with company's Health and Safety and other regulations
The candidate:
- GCSE in Science at "C" level or above and interest in science is required
- Experience of working with LIMS and within a laboratory environment is advantageous
- Knowledge of Word, Excel and Microsoft Outlook
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
