For the upcoming academic year, a science teacher is needed to join the staff of a secondary school in Plymouth. The school is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic science teacher who can infuse the department with new ideas and abilities and truly make a difference.

This is a long-term position beginning in September!

Key Responsibilities:

  • As a secondary school teacher, provide pupils with interesting and thorough classes in Chemistry, Physics, and Biology
  • Assuring progress and accomplishment, planning, preparing, and evaluating pupil's work
  • Make use of a range of instructional strategies and materials to accommodate various learning preferences
  • Ensure that the classroom is welcoming and positive
  • Work cooperatively with colleagues and take part in departmental conferences and school functions
  • Keep abreast of modern scientific advancements and incorporate them into the curriculum

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Must provide 2 proven professional references
  • Right to work in the UK
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service (Willing to get one)
  • A degree in science or in a closely relevant discipline
  • Strong background in biology, physics, and chemistry
  • Experience teaching science at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5
  • A track record of success in raising student's development and achievement across all skill levels
