Head of Finance

We are now working exclusively with one of the UK's leading commercial automotive repair businesses that is looking for their first Head of Finance!

Having tripled in size over the past 3 years, the business leadership is now looking for an experienced Finance Manager or Financial Controller to come on board in order to take control of the finance function, leading the small existing finance team and supporting the directors with key financial reporting and decision making.

This is an exciting time to join the company with additional plans for expansion in the near future and offers the opportunity to take full control of the finance operations, which will lead to becoming a key and influential part of the senior business leadership.

Due to the nature of the company, the role will involve a wide range of tasks and is likely to be highly varied, so suits someone that is willing to be hands on and roll up their sleeves when needed.

Key Responsibilities of this Head of Finance role are;

  • Oversee and produce financial and management reports and analysis for group companies, providing insights and advice to directors to inform decision-making.
  • Develop and implement strategic financial plans to support the company's growth objectives.
  • Manage cash flow and budgeting effectively, ensuring sufficient liquidity to meet operational needs and long-term financial goals.
  • Lead and mentor a small finance team, providing guidance and support as required.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory financial requirements such as VAT returns for multiple entities.
  • Implement new systems to improve business process and ways of working.
  • Collaborate with directors to develop and execute financial strategies aligned with business objectives.

You

  • Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Experience of running the finance operations in an expanding business.
  • Experience in the automotive industry is desirable although not essential.
  • Experience of software packages Xero and Hubdoc is also desirable.
  • Strong communication skills.
