Reed Accountancy are currently partnered with a well-established and ever-growing organisation in the Crawley area who are seeking a Senior Finance Assistant to join their friendly finance team on an interim basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, exceptional organisational skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently. This role involves managing accounts receivable, consolidating invoices, raising credit notes, and overseeing VAT exemption certificates, among other responsibilities.
Day to day duties of the Senior Finance Assistant:
- Approve customer orders and review credit limits.
- Assist in credit control and raise credit notes as needed.
- Post cash and payments for bank reconciliation.
- Manage the Accounts Receivable inbox, resolving any queries promptly.
- Send copy invoices and statements upon request.
- Consolidate invoices for customers on a diarised basis.
- Handle Accounts Receivable reporting and raise intercompany invoices as required.
- Manage customer VAT Exemption certificates.
- Provide support and cover for team members during annual leave.
- Data capture and perform ad hoc duties as required.
- Post and approve employee expenses, ensuring they are paid on time.
- Liaise with staff members to resolve any expense queries.
- Raise BACS payments and set up Direct Debit as necessary.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 5 years' experience working in a Finance team, preferably within Sales Ledger.
- Exceptional organisational skills and good IT proficiency.
- Assertive yet respectful with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to prioritise, work on own initiative, and collaborate effectively as part of a team.
- Knowledge of accounting treatment for all sales, purchase, cash, and nominal ledger transactions.
- Experience with company online banking and an understanding of Financial Statements.
- AAT qualification is desirable but not essential.
- Experience with NetSuite or similar financial software is advantageous.
