Job Title: Project Support Officer - Recovery Programme (Local Government)

Location: Berkshire (2-3 days in the office, remainder remote)

Contract Type: 6-month contract (inside IR35)

Rate: £300 per day

Role Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Project Support Officer to join a pivotal Recovery Programme within a Local Government setting. This role involves providing comprehensive support to project and programme managers, ensuring effective delivery of projects aligned with the Council's strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Support: Assist the TOM Project Manager and TOM Programme Manager in the execution and delivery of projects. Ensure objectives are clearly defined and timelines are adhered to.
  • Administrative Assistance: Provide structured and methodical administrative support to enhance operational effectiveness, including scheduling, documentation, and reporting.
  • Reporting & Monitoring: Support the creation of project reports and updates. Monitor project progress and assist in managing risks and issues.
  • Collaboration: Engage with diverse stakeholders across various levels to ensure smooth project operations and effective communication.
  • Governance: Aid in maintaining project governance structures, ensuring compliance with standards and best practices.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Project Support Experience: Proven experience in a project support or administrative role within complex projects or programmes.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work effectively, and maintain attention to detail.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in engaging with a range of stakeholders.
  • IT Proficiency: Proficient in using project management software, MS Office Suite, and other relevant tools.
  • Methodical Approach: Demonstrated ability to work methodically and supportively within a team.

Desirable:

  • Experience within a Local Government or public sector environment.
  • Familiarity with Recovery Programmes and Target Operating Model (TOM) development.
