Governance Manager

This prestigious membership organisation is looking to recruit a Governance Manager to contribute key support to the delivering of governance processes, including secretariat responsibilities for board and council meetings, and managing the annual election of members to these groups.

Key Responsibilities of the Governance Manager Role:

  • Provide committee secretariat support to boards and working groups, preparing agendas and papers in advance, taking minutes, and working closely with leads to arrange meeting schedules.
  • Oversee the election processes for members to join important boards and committees.
  • Undertake project work related to designated working groups, considering the governance of the committees.
  • Line management responsibilities for two members of staff, directing their work and supporting their development.
  • Develop relationships with all stakeholders and contribute to the continuous improvement of governance functions in collaboration with other senior staff.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Education to degree level or with equivalent experience.
  • Hands-on understanding of governance functions, including in-depth experience of committee management and knowledge of compliance with charity regulations.
  • Highly-organised with the ability to prioritise time and workloads.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including minute taking.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.

Salary and Benefits:

  • £50,000 per annum.
  • Full-time, permanent position.
  • Based in Central London office, with provision for remote working.
