We are working with Sheffield Council to find a Contract Manager on a temporary basis.
• Hourly rate £23.64 PAYE. Umbrella £30.53.
• Location: Sheffield. Hybrid. 2/3 days per week in the office.
• Role length: Initial contract until the end of March
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Contract Manager to join our team in Sheffield. This role is crucial for managing a diverse portfolio of contracts and ensuring strategic priorities are met through effective contract management. The Contract Manager will play a key role in the procurement and lifecycle management of contracts, ensuring they align with business objectives and deliver value.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Oversee the preparation and management of tender documentation, ensuring specifications are fit for purpose.
- Manage approximately 10 ongoing procurements, including services such as catering at the town hall and commercial waste contracts.
- Work closely with the housing service to enhance procurement and contract management processes.
- Focus on contract management, ensuring contracts are executed and maintained effectively throughout their lifecycle.
- Manage the energy unit, requiring presence in the office 2-3 days per week.
- Lead a team of 4, focusing on procurement and contract management without the requirement for prior management experience.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Qualification in procurement or equivalent experience in a similar role.
- Comprehensive understanding of the procurement process and contract lifecycle management.
- Experience in managing multiple contracts simultaneously, including negotiation and securing meetings.
- Strong organisational and communication skills, capable of managing a team and working collaboratively across departments.
- No specific management experience required, but must be able to lead and direct a team effectively.
