Salary: £40,953 to £45,273 (pay award pending wef 1 April 2024)

Building Control Surveyor – The Role:

This role will be in line with the Class 2 building inspectors as defined by the Building Safety Regulator (BSR) and will perform restricted activities and advise on restricted functions, within the limitations of their registration. This is a broad class which covers all building types other than those dealt with by Class 3 Specialist Inspectors.

The individual Registered Building Inspector will work on those appropriate to their competence and the limitations of their registration. The building types reflect those identified within the Building Regulations 2010 (as amended) and the Approved Documents.

Building Control Surveyor – Key Responsibilities:

- Identifying, determining and taking action to secure compliance
- Providing competent advice to building control bodies and duty holders
- Identifying and report conflicts of interest for appropriate action to be taken
- Inspecting and responding to dangerous structures
- Investigating unauthorised building work

Building Control Surveyor – You:

The successful candidate is expected to have and maintain their Class 2 Building Inspector competences as defined within the HSE Building Inspector Competence Framework throughout employment.
