A new opportunity is available for a Key Account Manager to join our client, a global leader in the Health and Personal Care sector. Joining their dynamic Sales team in Leeds, you will work alongside industry experts and be a key influence within highly reputable clientele on an international basis, including well-known brands. We are seeking candidates from a Product or Brand background. You will have had full ownership of key client accounts, fostering long-term relationships, managing the P&L, conducting detailed account planning, and identifying opportunities for growth; whether launching new products within existing accounts or securing new business partnerships. You will be a product champion, delivering inspiring, credible, and solutions-focused pitches.

Job Overview: As a Key Account Manager, you will play a pivotal role in nurturing and expanding relationships with key accounts. Your primary responsibility will involve representing the business internally and externally with ownership of key accounts, promoting existing and new products, and aligning growth objectives. You'll be the liaison between customers and the organisation, working alongside Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, and Product teams, ensuring unparalleled engagement and follow-through.

Main Responsibilities of the Key Account Manager:

  • Account Management: Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers, understanding their needs, and collaborating to create robust business plans. Negotiate contracts, provide exemplary customer service, and address issues promptly to achieve mutual satisfaction and growth.
  • Sales and Business Development: Strategically grow accounts, identify opportunities, and present engaging solutions. Conduct regular meetings both on-site and virtually to drive growth, submit NPD projects, and stay updated on market trends.
  • Self-Development & Teamwork: Invest in personal growth, collaborate within the business, mentor colleagues, and embody company values internally and externally to foster a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork.

Qualities We Seek:

  • Experience: 4+ years' experience within a similar sector, in a Product led or Branded environment - health and beauty, FMCG, retail, speciality chemicals/chemicals manufacturing - showcasing a proven track record as a Key Account Manager within a fast-paced environment.
  • Sales Acumen: Ability to navigate high-level negotiations, formulate complex contracts, and drive sales aligned with KPIs and targets.
  • Industry Understanding: Ability to quickly become a product expert, with a knack for communicating technical information in a commercial context.
  • Strategic Approach: Exceptional organisational skills, numerical proficiency, and a passion for forging long-term partnerships and creative solutions.
  • Project Management: Proficient in managing multiple projects, engaging diverse teams, and adapting communication styles across various stakeholders.
  • International Aptitude: Flexibility and willingness to travel internationally as needed.
