Fleet Manager

Fleet Manager | Nottinghamshire | Salary up to £50,000 per annum

Cherry Professional are recruiting for an energetic, creative and experienced Fleet Manager to lead commercial and supplier engagement efforts for our fleet portfolio of spend. This is a great opportunity to drive creative commercial value and build strategic partnerships in a fast-paced delivery environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Procure vehicles, whether through lease, purchase, or other means, according to company
  • Maintain this ongoing around lease renewals and mileage limitations, to avoid any financial penalties.
  • Register, obtain licenses, and insure the company's vehicles
  • Secure vehicles, drivers (during work-related activities), and relevant assets
  • Partner with reputable repair and maintenance shops in favourable locations
  • Oversee and schedule vehicle inspection, maintenance, and servicing to minimize downtime
  • Maintain all vehicle information and inspection records
  • Securely store driver records
  • Reduce unnecessary expenses and increase fuel efficiency
  • Secure the fleet's compliance with applicable regulations
  • Building and maintaining long-term relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Approving purchase orders and organizing and confirming delivery of goods and services.
  • Performing risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements.
  • Controlling the procurement budget and promoting a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs.
  • Managing stock across all locations to an optimised point to support Operational efficiency whilst optimising the inventory held.
  • Secure the fleet's compliance with applicable regulations
  • Analyse fleet performance data and improve accordingly
  • Report fleet performance and finances to upper management
  • Source and negotiate the best commercial Insurance cover for the fleet.
  • Source and negotiate the best commercial fuel purchasing considering driver base and coverage areas.
  • Vehicle inspection and maintenance Provide management reports and key performance data and monitor cost savings.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers and select and develop new suppliers.
  • Negotiate and manage contract terms with suppliers to ensure value for money, quality standards and delivery terms with technical and operational input from stakeholders and colleagues.
  • Review and negotiate existing agreements to optimise commercial terms.
  • Assess tenders from potential suppliers.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a procurement manager role, ideally within the engineering sector
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or business administration
  • Proven experience managing supply chain operations.
  • Procurement cost management and analysis skills are essential
  • Experience using supply chain management software and tools, including Oracle, SAP Ariba, and/or
  • In-depth knowledge of preparing and reviewing contracts, invoicing, and negotiation terms.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access).
  • Management and leadership skills.
  • Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise task
