Field Engineer - Installations Engineer - Data Cabling and EPOS Projects

Looking for an experience Field Engineer / Installations Engineer to deliver a range of projects from simple repetitive multi-site per day equipment upgrades like PED, and Printer swaps, to full new store openings of new QSR environments (quick service restaurants).

New restaurant openings usually involve a first visit 2-3 days 1st fix data cabling, then around a 5 days second phase, putting in all the IT, EPOS and associated equipment, commissioning, testing and hand over to client.

The client then offers ongoing service maintenance contracts, and you will undertake ad hoc Field Service calls.

This role is to join the full-time permanent team. Where possible you will be attending clients' sites in the local area, if there is no work locally, you must be willing to travel and, occasionally, stay away (all expenses paid).

This role is to cover mainly the M5 corridor patch between West Midlands and Bristol. Ideally applicants should be based in the GL / HR / WR post code areas (Gloucester, Cheltenham, Hereford, Worcester etc).

Work is planned Mon - Friday with a 1 in 7 on call rota for service calls, all paid as overtime, + £200 per weekend on call allowance (approx. £1500 per annum).

Basic salary £30 - 32000 + lots of overtime potential (around £5K extra), business expensed company van, pension, paid holiday.

As this role is mostly project based, the working hours are flexible. Standard hours are any 8 hours day between 0600 - 1900 as required. Any work outside of this is always at x1.5.

To apply for this role, you must have:

  • A full manual UK Driving Licence.
  • Previous experience on similar EPOS or IT or Data Cabling Installations Projects.
  • Be flexible to travel UK wide and occasionally do overnight stays.

Applicants with a CSCS or ECS card preferred (although training can be provided) as the client sites are often under construction site H&S rules.

You must be confident using ladders and power tools (mainly drills).
