Financial Assistant

Up to £36,000

Full Time - Based in Wokingham

An excellent opportunity for an ambitious, financially-minded individual to join a highly successful business within a thriving leisure and hospitality sector.

We are a small, friendly finance team delivering financial solutions for a highly regarded company within the hospitality industry. This is a full-time position based in our Wokingham office. We are looking for someone with purchase ledger and bookkeeping experience to work full-time as our Financial Assistant.

A key element of your role will be the smooth handling of data processing, ensuring that invoices are assessed and processed accurately. You will also assist with month-end reconciliations and the preparation of quarterly financial statements.

Main Responsibilities (reporting to the Financial Controller):

  • Maintaining the purchase and sales ledgers.
  • Ensuring that orders placed are properly pre-authorised and matched to invoices.
  • Reconciliation of bank accounts and statements.
  • Posting supplier invoices including credit notes.
  • Preparation of weekly payment runs
  • Liaising with suppliers.
  • Ensuring accounts data is up to date, accurate and reconciled.
  • Preparing site orders with suppliers and checking prices are correct
  • Assisting sites with month-end stock takes.

Requirements

  • Purchase ledger environment for at least 2 years
  • Ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Knowledge of Xero and/or Sage 50 experience would be an advantage.
  • AAT qualification is preferred but not essential.
  • Enjoy working with people.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word packages including Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Able to work accurately, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Willing to assist with general office administration
  • Assisting the company operations management team as/when required.
