Job Title: Senior Ecologist
Salary: £38,000 - £45,000
Location: Exeter

As a Senior Ecologist your duties will be:
- Providing ecological support to a varied range of projects across different sectors and collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Planning and coordinating field surveys, analysing and interpreting survey results.
- Undertaking field surveys and managing survey data.
- Authoring ecological reports, including Preliminary Ecological Appraisals.
- Undertaking mapping using QGIS; and assisting with bid preparation and building client relationships.
To be considered for the Senior Ecologist position, you will need:
- A degree in ecology, biology, zoology or closely related field.
- At least qualifying membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) or an application in process (cover available for membership costs).
- Experience with UKHabitat surveys.
- Survey skills for one or more protected species.
- An understanding of Scottish and UK wildlife legislation, planning policies, licensing requirements and best practice survey techniques.
- Understanding of biodiversity net gain (BNG) / application of biodiversity enhancements.
- Experience of producing ecological reports, including Preliminary Ecological Appraisal Reports.
- Strong collaborative behaviours to interface with multi-disciplinary teams and other stakeholders.
- Willingness to complete field surveys and travel to different sites.
- Excellent communication skills.
- A full valid UK/EEC driving licence.
