Type: Full-Time (Temporary with Permanent option)

Working Hours; 08:30 am - 16:30 pm.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Humanities Teacher who can teach a broad range of subjects within the humanities discipline, including History, Geography, Social Studies, and Civics. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering a love of learning, critical thinking, and cultural awareness among students. This role involves planning, delivering, and assessing high-quality lessons that cater to diverse learning needs.

Position Overview: Seeking a dedicated and passionate Humanities Teacher to join the team starting in September 2024. This position is a temp to perm, ending at the conclusion of the academic year, with the potential for permanent contract based on performance and organisational needs by December 2024.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching & Curriculum Development:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons across various humanities subjects (History, Geography, Social Studies, Civics).
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that meets educational standards and enhances students' knowledge and skills.
  • Use a variety of instructional strategies to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.

Student Engagement & Support:

  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
  • Provide individualized support and feedback to help students achieve their academic potential.
  • Encourage critical thinking, discussion, and analysis on relevant topics.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, History, Geography, Social Studies, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Valid teaching certification.
  • Proven experience teaching humanities subjects at the middle or high school level.
  • Strong knowledge of humanities curriculum and instructional best practices.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for teaching and the ability to inspire and motivate students.
