About the Role

Base Location: Perth with the flexibility to work from home up to 1-2 days per week, subject to operational requirements

Salary: £26,609 - £30,472 + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Our SSE Travel function is well regarded and has a key part to play in facilitating SSE's operations across the UK and internationally. We manage a significant annual travel spend and our service is accessible and visible to all levels of the organisation, so it is important that we get it right first time. Our core and volume travel requirements are served by a third party booking platform along with a travel APP and we are striving to develop as far as possible a seamless self-serve travel experience for our travellers. We have an eye on the future and are digitizing our commerce and reporting. Similarly with an eye to the future, we are reviewing our travel policy to ensure best in class including consideration of wider environmental responsibilities.

What is the role?

The reservation and booking of travel requirements which include flights, rail, car hires, hotels and ferries across a variety of channels.

Receiving both standard and complex travel booking enquiries through our travel management system and managing the end to end booking process.

Consult with bookers on international passport and visa requirements. Undertaking all related administration and communications and ensuring that travel requirements conform with company travel policy.

Working as part of a team of professional travel colleagues to provide a 24/7 effective and expedient travel service.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

  • Existing travel management experience either in a retail or corporate environment with an understanding of the travel industry and the various industry booking systems e.g GDS systems and online booking platforms.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to discuss and manage travellers from across all levels of the business.
  • Good level of numerical and written skills with attention to detail.
  • Resilience to work under pressure and to tight timescales especially during unplanned events e.g. supporting storm response.
  • Flexibility to support the business in its hour of need e.g. booking short notice travel to support storm response.
