Contract SolidWorks Designer IR35 Status: Out
Hourly Rate - Circa £25 DOE
Contract Term - 3 months to 6 months

We're excited to be supporting a British designer and manufacturer of specialist vandal-resistant lighting for the commercial and public sectors.
They have an internal housekeeping project that they're looking to get underway. You will be responsible for converting 2D RADAN drawings into 3D SolidWorks models of their luminary products.
This contract will suit someone who has their own SolidWorks license and CAD-capable workstation, and who is either looking to fill 2-3 days a week or can commit to full-time hours.
Responsibilities, but are not limited to
- Thoroughly analyse the RADAN drawings to understand the geometry, dimensions, and any critical features
- Set up SolidWorks environment, configure SolidWorks settings (units, material libraries, templates) to match the specifications in the RADAN drawings
- Import the RADAN 2D drawing as a DXF/DWG file into SolidWorks to serve as a reference
- Continuously compare the SolidWorks 3D model with the RADAN 2D drawing to ensure accuracy
- Create associated 2D drawings once the 3D model is finalized, generate 2D drawings in SolidWorks to document the model, including all necessary views, dimensions, and notes
- Document the conversion process, keep records of any assumptions, deviations, or issues encountered during the conversion process
- Before releasing the model, conduct a final review to ensure that all design intent has been captured and the model is fully accurate
Experiences required
- Competent using SolidWorks
- Ability to convert 2D CAD drawings into 3D CAD models
- Must have own SolidWorks license 2022, 2023 or 2024
- Must have own CAD capable workstation
