Door Fitter/Supervisor - Mechanical or Electrical

The Recruitment Co are currently recruiting for a Door Fitter/Supervisor to work for an established, growing business in the Preston area.

Door Fitter/Supervisor salary: £35,360 - £41,600 (Depending on Experience)

Door Fitter/Supervisor hours: 40 Hours a week Mon - Thu 8 - 4:30 / Friday 8 - 2

Door Fitter/Supervisor Roles and responsibilities:

  • The role will require 4 days a week working away on average (will be given £25 allowance when working away and will also be provided with accommodation when unable to travel home)
  • -Specialist jobs needed sometimes where they require 3 week stints away abroad (in these cases an allowance of £45 will be paid daily as well as overtime rates for late shifts)
  • Install, service and maintain the range of doors, which can be NPSA (CPNI) rated. The range includes Sliding-folding, bi fold doors, side hinged doors and fire doors. All doors can be either mechanical or electrically operated.
  • Install and maintain other manufacturers' doors.
  • Lead on site team of fitters, to ensure the project is completed within the allocated time and to the high standards required.
  • Ability to read manufacturing or electrical drawings would also be essential.
  • Ensure that all HSE and company paperwork is completed and returned to the office after the project has been completed.
  • Ensure appropriate audits and checks are carried out on equipment in line with relevant standards.
  • Receive and put into action all written and verbal instructions as required.
  • Train and supervise all team members to ensure they adhere to all safety documentation.

Required Skills / Qualifications Required:

  • Candidates must be able to demonstrate that they have experience in running Installation/service teams on site and have SSSTS Card as a minimum.
  • All Electricians Must be fully qualified up to 18th Edition as a minimum.
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Strong experience with power tools
  • FLT (Counterbalance / Telehandlers)
  • To undergo Security Clearance, which will include background checks, references for the previous 3 years employment, residential checks, a medical and complete random Drugs and Alcohol checks.
  • Other Qualifications which will be required: IPAF, PASMA. (Company will pay for these for the right candidate but costs will have to be reimbursed should they leave within one year.)
