Apprenticeship Skills Tutor - Fabrication & Welding

Location - Worksop

Salary- £35,501 pro rata, including market force supplement, DOE

Hours- 37 hours per week

Responsibilities for the role of Apprenticeship Skills Tutor - Fabrication & Welding Tutor

  • Support evidence, coaching, and skills to apprentices for behaviours, knowledge, and skills, ensuring timely completion of End Point Assessments (EPA)
  • As part of the Department of work-based learning, you will report directly to the Curriculum Team Leader/Curriculum Manager
  • You will play an active role in the curriculum team, working with key stakeholders such as Curriculum Team Leaders, Curriculum Managers, Curriculum Lecturers etc
  • Proactively build good relationships, manage a caseload of apprentices and communicate effectively with a diverse range of people and organisations
  • Develop individual learning plans and assist with functional skills and qualification preparation
  • Conduct regular tripartite reviews with apprentices and their line managers
  • You will be able to adopt a flexible and proactive approach to supporting learners undertaking qualifications in the workplace.
  • Work with curriculum colleagues and employers to monitor learner progress and agree on targets

Skills and Experience for the Role of Engineering Apprenticeship Skills Tutor

  • Will need to hold a relevant industry NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) or higher
  • Possess an A1/V1 Assessors Award (or equivalent)
  • Must have excellent IT skills
  • Will have a current teaching qualification
  • IQA Award is desirable, but not essential
  • Must be a strong communicator both verbally and written
