Robertson Bell is excited to partner with a renowned organisation in the arts and charity sector, currently seeking a dedicated Finance Assistant to join their team on a permanent, full-time basis. This role reports into a supportive hiring manager and would suit a motivated, flexible, and engaged individual, who is eager to take on a variety of tasks.
The key responsibilities include:
- Managing the email inbox to address queries and process invoices.
- Allocating payments in the finance system and conducting weekly payment runs.
- Handling bank postings and cashing up, with a focus on moving towards a cashless system.
- Engaging in month-end processes, including transactional postings and reconciliations of credit cards and bank accounts.
- Processing a range of invoices, predominantly Accounts Payable but also some Accounts Receivable.
- Supporting the enterprise side of the organisation by cashing up and raising invoices.
- Assisting with audit preparations, such as pulling invoicing data and communicating via email.

- A willingness to work towards a financial qualification such as AAT.
- Experience in the charity, arts, or events sectors, though applicants from other backgrounds are welcome.
- A solid understanding of debits and credits, with practical experience in handling both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable transactions.
- Cash handling experience and ideally familiarity with bank reconciliation, setting up payments, and managing credit card expenses.
- A well-rounded finance background, adaptable to various tasks, and capable of prioritizing work effectively.
