Accounts Payable Clerk

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk to join a leading financial services company based in the heart of London. As an Accounts Payable Clerk, you will maintain and update the Accounts Payable and Staff debtor books, ledger, and records. Your role will ensure timely and accurate payment of creditors, supporting the production of monthly management accounts and year-end financial statements.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update Accounts Payable (AP) records
  • Obtain necessary approvals for expenditures
  • Track and review invoices through the payment process
  • Match invoices to budgets
  • Respond to invoice queries from stakeholders
  • Prepare payment schedules and remittance advices
  • Conduct account reconciliations and accruals
  • Assist with cash management tasks
  • Support the Finance team with journal postings and financial reporting
  • Identify process improvement opportunities

Skills Required:

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good numeracy skills
  • Excellent organizational and planning abilities
  • Problem-solving mindset
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • AAT part-qualified or equivalent qualifications
  • Prior experience in accounts payable or a similar role
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Knowledge of accounting software (e.g., Sage Enterprise Management)
