Job Role
To give Housing Advice to the Afghan, Syrian & Ukrainian Refugee Households that approach the council for housing assistance, this will include attendance at a weekly housing drop-in session at the PBIC (Polish Community) centre in Bedford.
To liaise closely with the HFU team providing appropriate advice to telephone and email enquiries. Undertake property inspections for prospective hosts on the HFU scheme.
To co-ordinate the provision of homes and funding for the UK government Resettlement Schemes to ensure efficient service delivery. To be the first point of contact in liaison with the Home Office for rehousing of refugees within the team.
Key Accountabilities
Conduct property Inspections for the HFU team confirming suitability of properties for Ukrainian guests.
Be the first point of contact for telephone calls, emails and general enquiries from Ukrainian, Afghan & Syrian customers and direct to relevant persons if required.
Be the first point of contact for referrals from the SMP (Strategic Migration Partnership) for refugee families ensuring the provision of homes for Afghan & Syrian
Refugees and that the homes are suitable, furnished and ready- to- let with appropriate support mechanisms are in place.
Responsible for recording and monitoring all income and expenditure of the. Afghan & Syrian Schemes.
