Mon - Thurs: 8am - 16.30pm,
Fri: 8am - 15.30pm (Hours: 39 hours)

T_he probation period of this role is 3 months, in which you will be paid on a weekly basis. Once you pass the probation period, you will be classed as a permanent employee._

Their Southampton location is recruiting for the position of a Site Service Engineer. About The Role

  • Working on, repairing and maintaining a wide range of electrical and mechanical industrial rotating equipment including but not limited to motors, pumps and gearboxes on customers sites.
  • Attending small and large customer sites to carry out planned and reactive maintenance.
  • Workshop duties also include Repairs to all types of industrial equipment including AC and DC motors, Motorised Gearboxes, Gearbox's, Pumps, Fan units and other associated rotating equipment.

About You

  • You will have the ability to fault find and identify and rectify defects and worn / damaged components
  • Have as a minimum basic electrical testing capability to assess electrical condition of AC & DC components
  • Have sound mechanical engineering knowledge to identify and rectify faulty and worn / damaged components and understand reclamation techniques and reverse engineering options
  • The activities of the role are essentially the strip-down, fault finding, remedial repair and re-assembly of the following types of equipment on customer sites:
  • Large water pumps
  • Smaller industrial pumps
  • Gearboxes
  • Electric motors
  • Fans
  • Other sundry mechanical equipment

In addition to the above, the current team is flexible and offers a range of skills and experience to assist new colleagues within their role. Therefore, we would expect to see the following in new additions.

  • Flexibility in reference to working the hours required in a demanding and busy 24/7 service orientated environment. With this a call out rota is applied (Details discussed upon the successfulness of an interview)
  • Mechanical and electronically skilled technicians ideally NVQ level 3 or similar certified.
  • Confident to working on site in addition to the workshop when required (Site working experience is a distinct advantage and suitable qualifications such as CCNSG passport is preferable)
