Purpose of Role
To provide technical claims handling for a portfolio of Marine & Energy Claims within agreed authority levels, as well as providing technical expertise to more junior Adjusters in the team, and providing claims management support to cedants and brokers.
Although the role will be based in London, it will incorporate a hybrid working model.
Key Responsibilities
- Promptly and accurately handling a portfolio of Marine & Energy Claims - Hull, War and Liability / Down & Upstream Energy.
- Regular reviews of outstanding claims, maintaining up to date claim records, with effective knowledge and use of internal / market systems.
- Providing technical support to Line Manager / Head of Claims, and ensuring knowledge is updated and maintained.
- Developing and maintaining good internal and external relationships, liaising effectively with Underwriters, Actuaries, Finance, Reinsurance Managers and In-House Lawyers.
- Providing information as requested to support the team / group.
- Assisting Line Manager and RI team with RI recoveries.
Key Requirements
- Significant experience of independently adjusting Marine and/or Energy Claims within own authority level.
- Technical knowledge i.e. legal principles, policy wordings, reinsurance market practice.
- Insurance qualifications i.e. ACII, either obtained or being studied for, is preferred but not essential.
- Strong analytical and organisational skills, including report writing experience.
- Excellent communication skills, both internal and external.
