Job Title: Senior Cyber Security Consultant

Location: Manchester - Hybrid, 1 day per week onsite

Contract Details: Fixed Term Contract, 6 months, £700pwd

  • Provide expert advice on designing and implementing cloud security strategies.
  • Conduct security assessments and audits of cloud infrastructures.
  • Advise on cloud security best practises, ensuring compliance with security policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Consult on security measures for migrating mainframe systems to cloud platforms.
  • Ensure secure transfer and integration of data and applications.
  • Develop and recommend security policies and procedures for mainframe transitions.
  • Effectively communicate complex technical information to senior management and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Provide strategic advice on cyber security considerations and risk mitigation.
  • Develop and deliver training programmes to enhance security awareness among project staff.
  • Stay updated with the latest cyber security threats and technologies.
  • Conduct risk assessments and provide actionable recommendations for mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to align security solutions with project goals.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant UK financial regulations and standards.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for security policies, procedures, and recommendations.
  • Support internal and external audits, providing required information and documentation.

  • Strong presentation and report-writing skills.
  • Experience in engaging with senior executives and board members.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify and mitigate security risks.
  • Proven ability to provide effective security recommendations in a project setting.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or similar.
  • Cloud-specific certifications like AWS Certified Security - Specialty, Azure Security Engineer Associate, etc., are highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in cyber security, with a focus on cloud security and mainframe environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in consulting and providing security expertise for large-scale projects.
