Maintenance Assistant
Position: Maintenance Assistant
Hours: 37 hours per week
Pay: £12.82 - £14 per hour
Start Date: Immediate, upon clearance
Duration: Initially 1 month
About the Role:
Are you an experienced maintenance professional with a background in school settings? We are seeking a Maintenance Assistant to provide essential maintenance cover at one of our Abingdon Secondary School sites for an initial period of one month.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform both proactive and reactive maintenance, repair, and small-scale building work on school buildings, grounds, fixtures, and fittings.
- Carry out portering and manual handling duties, such as moving furniture and equipment.
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Use computer software competently for maintenance tracking and reporting.
Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have experience in repairs and maintenance, including the use of power tools, carpentry, decorating, building, and routine grounds maintenance.
- Enjoy working as part of a committed and supportive team with a flexible and positive outlook.
- Be reliable, experienced, and knowledgeable in Health and Safety and Safeguarding practices.
- Possess good IT skills and strong interpersonal skills.
