Management Accountant
Exeter, Devon
£35,000 - £40,000 per annum
Our client, a business services company located in the southwest, is currently seeking a skilled Management Accountant to join their expanding team on a full-time, permanent basis.
As the Management Accountant, you will support the Finance Team and senior management by performing essential bookkeeping and accounting duties, drafting monthly management accounts, while also assisting in preparing budgets and handling other ad hoc tasks as needed.
The responsibilities:
- Enter financial information and maintain accounts in the internal system.
- Recommend weekly supplier payments to the CFO and reconcile supplier statements.
- Produce the first draft of monthly management accounts, including accruals, prepayments, balance sheet reconciliations, VAT returns, and fixed asset register maintenance.
- Support the CFO with year-end requirements, including tax and audit packs.
- Assist the CFO with ad hoc financial reporting, typically in Excel.
- Prepare financial documents such as sales invoices.
- Process business expense claims.
The candidate:
- Part or full AAT qualification, or an equivalent certification.
- Proven experience in a similar accounting role.
- Strong skills in Excel and other software packages.
- Keen attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
