Senior Procurement and Contracts Officer

We are seeking a Procurement and Contracts Officer for an ongoing temporary assignment with a local authority in SE London. The role requires a candidate who can manage end-to-end procurement processes, from requests for quotes to above threshold procurements. This is a strategic position that involves working collaboratively with the Procurement and Contracts Manager and various stakeholders to deliver effective procurement solutions and contract management.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Deliver small to medium value procurements through the end-to-end process.
- Work collaboratively with the Procurement and Contracts Manager to implement strategic procurement solutions.
- Manage contract-related matters, ensuring compliance with procurement procedures, standing orders, and financial regulations.
- Handle the management of commercial risks associated with procurement activities.
- Operate within a hybrid working model, with a minimum of 40% office-based work.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of public sector procurement.
- Proven experience in managing and supporting procurement arrangements across a diverse range of services.
- Solid experience in contract management and procurement practices.
- Ability to ensure compliance with procurement procedures, standing orders, and financial regulations.
- Competency in managing commercial risks.
