Gleeson Logistics are exclusively partnering with a business that is looking for a Senior Operations Manager. This Opportunity allows an Operations Professional to lead from the front of an Organically growing business.

The role will be responsible for multiple areas of the business been Planning, Contact Centre & Quality.

Job Title: Senior Operations Manager

Work Type: Office based with Flex Work.

Package: £60,000 +

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the Driver Operations contact centre, analyse call handling, and implement continuous improvements.
  • Provide leadership and coaching, manage performance and culture, plan for succession, ensure safe working practices, optimise resource utilisation, and forecast resource levels.
  • Enhance resource availability by effectively monitoring and communicating processes using the Driver Management system to maintain and manage Company driver standards.
  • Offering strong leadership and support to motivate all operations staff and employed drivers, while ensuring all department staff receive relevant training and development.
  • Collaborate with relevant departments to resolve driver issues, ensure proper issuance of equipment to drivers, and arrange for equipment collection when necessary.
  • Achieve performance targets in line with KPIs and budget, analyse costs, and develop initiatives to minimise expenses while maximising service performance.
  • Develop mechanisms for conducting team meetings and manage the driver communication process to keep field-based resources informed of business developments.
  • Communicate and report on essential performance KPIs.
  • Hold regular meetings with Operational Account Managers to review performance and address future development needs.
  • Conduct weekly and monthly forecasting related to customer volume, resource mix, cost control, and financial performance.
  • Review and plan for current and future customer requirements.
  • Monitor driver resource mix and create a recruitment plan aligned with financial and service requirements.
  • Ensure the achievement of the operational budget.
  • Manage the Inspections Quality Desktop and Physical Audit functions.
  • Oversee third-party subcontractors to ensure cost-effective service delivery.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Ability to analyse and manipulate data.
  • Proficient in building and maintaining effective working relationships.
  • The ability to manage a large fleet of vehicles
  • Experience in contact centre
  • Experience in Running multiple area of the business.
