Management Accountant

Become part of a prestigious educational institution known for its outstanding reputation as a Management Accountant. You will oversee the daily operations of the school's financial department, including sales and purchase ledger management, school fee invoicing, preparation of management and annual statutory accounts, payroll processing, and ensuring robust financial controls.

About You:

The ideal candidate will have a proven and successful background in finance, with school experience being a plus. Applicants should possess excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage detailed information. They are looking for a dynamic, proactive individual capable of efficiently handling conflicting requirements. Previous payroll experience and familiarity with iFinance are desirable. The candidate should have a proven track record of working effectively with diverse stakeholders and strong IT skills.

Main Duties:

  • Create termly management accounts with variance analysis and full-year projections.
  • Monitor financial transactions ensuring best practice.
  • Prepare annual budget schedules, including supporting documentation for review.
  • Identify and inform the Bursar of significant variances and recommend corrective actions.
  • Manage annual closedown and prepare outturn figures.
  • Review draft statutory financial statements for accuracy and compliance.
  • Support the audit process and prepare necessary documentation.
  • Stay updated with financial changes in the sector and advise key stakeholders.
  • Drive forward new technologies to streamline department functions.

Qualifications & Personal Attributes:

  • CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified or part-qualified.
  • Strong understanding of financial and commercial matters.
  • Practical, systematic approach to work; able to work calmly under pressure.
  • Excellent stakeholder management.
  • Committed team player with a collaborative approach.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Strategic thinker with a strong grasp of detail.
