SEN Support - Autism and Complex Needs

An excellent Primary Special School in Windsor is currently recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join them ASAP. This is an exciting opportunity for a graduate or experienced teaching assistant to develop their experience with Special Educational Needs including Autism, Global Developmental Delay and various other cognitive disorders/learning disabilities.

A graduate with a degree graded 2:2 or above is ideal for this role and some previous experience working with SEN children is desirable. The position will be working 1:1 with pupils with Special Needs and Challenging Behaviour in the school. The Learning Support Assistant will have the opportunity to work closely with children who have mental health difficulties, display challenging behaviour and have learning disabilities such as Autism.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with external professionals, including psychologists, to provide tailored support
  • Support students in developing emotional regulation and social skills
  • Work with students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH**)** needs
  • Relevant previous experience would include youth work, support work, mental health work and SEN in sport.
  • Bring a positive, calm, and proactive attitude, with a strong interest in Psychology

This Primary school are looking for a confident, dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants who are enthusiastic and passionate about their input into a child's education. Ideally, the successful SEN Teaching Assistant will have excellent behaviour management skills and desirably some form of restraint training.

  • Pay: £83 - £95 per day (dependent on experience, training, and qualifications)
  • Contract: Long-term temporary with potential for permanent
  • Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday (8:30 am - 3:30 pm)
  • Experience: Desired but not essential
