We are seeking an individual who is enthusiastic about retail and accounting to join our team as an Accounts Payable & Receivable Clerk. This role will involve managing both incoming and outgoing payments, ensuring financial records are up-to-date and having responsibility for all aspects of the Purchase Ledger

Our client is a well-established retail business located in Dagenham. With a team of over 100 dedicated employees, they are well-known for their extensive range of high-quality products and commitment to excellent customer service.

Description

  • Creating supplier accounts and beneficiaries in the ERP system and on Banking portal
  • All Purchase Ledger activities including invoices, credit notes, payments, posting journals, authorisations, postings and checking.
  • Processing, analysis and checking of Duty, Carriage, Warehouse PPD and claims.
  • Credit card processing and reconciliation.
  • Raising occasional Sales Invoices. 95% is automated.
  • Reconciling and overseeing the automation process for sales receipt payment files
  • Reviewing employee Expense Claim Forms and checking receipts
  • Updating Cashflow payment plans, Posting Bank transactions
  • Requesting supplier statements and reconciliation
  • Generating Aged Accounts Payable Report and notating.
  • Adding fixed assets to the system and setting up prepaid deferral schedules
  • Keeping track of gas meter readings, cleaning services & waste collection timesheets
  • Dealing with Customs Clearance, administration, Deferment account control.
  • Ordering office stationaries

Profile

A successful Accounts Payable & Receivable should have:

  • A proven background in Accounts Payable
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, and accounting software.
  • Strong numerical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
