Mental Health Support Worker- Haywards Heath
Engage Education are currently working in partnership with an all through school on an exciting new SEND TA position specifically to support learners with SEMH in the Haywards Heath area.
Starting immediately, the school is looking for an outstanding SEND Teaching Assistant to join them on a long term temporary basis. If the role goes well there is the potential for this to turn into a permanent assignment.
Due to the location of this School, the ideal candidate will need to be a driver, as it is not accessible via Public Transport.
This is supporting a learner with SEMH.
Your Role:
- Supporting learners on a one-to-one basis often with complex learning needs
- Working with other support staff to engage pupils in class
- Providing feedback to teachers and parents
The School:
It is a special school catering for primary aged boys with Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties and Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC), including those with Asperger's Syndrome and those with a diagnosis of ADHD.

- A range of behaviour management techniques
- To have worked with learners with a range of needs
- The ability to engage a young person in learning through a range of methods
- To be able to commit to working at the school for long period of time
