We are seeking a Building Surveyor to join our Planned Maintenance team within the Asset Services Directorate. This role involves providing a range of in-house Building Surveying Services, Project Management, and Contract Administration. The successful candidate will assist the Head of Planned Maintenance and work under the guidance of the Senior Building Surveyor.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Deliver an efficient, responsive, and customer-focused Asset management service.
  • Maintain and develop positive working relationships with external agencies and tenant groups.
  • Manage budgets for the planned maintenance programme and ensure timely payment of invoices.
  • Prepare cost plans, estimates, and schedules of works for tender.
  • Liaise with Development and Housing Management staff for Handover inspections and appraisals.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies, statutory requirements, and legislation.
  • Coordinate and manage an effective planned asset management service.
  • Produce CAD drawings for feasibility studies, statutory approvals, and tender.
  • Administer NEC construction projects and manage contractors under a Measured Term Contract.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Degree in Building Surveying or similar discipline with a minimum of 1 year's experience in construction (new and refurbishment work), or a Level 5 qualification in a relevant field with at least 3 years' experience.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety in the Construction industry, including CDM NI 2016 Regulations.
  • Familiarity with contracts management, including the NEC suite of contracts, Measured Term Contracts, and Framework Agreements.
  • Full, clean driving licence with access to private transport.

Desirable:

  • Aspiration to work towards Chartered Membership of a building-related professional body such as RICS, CIOB, or similar.
