Instrument Technician

Our client is seeking an Instrument Technician to join the team to support an ongoing suite of investment as well as the day to day operations of their plant assets.

As an Instrument Technician you will perform preventative maintenance and breakdown activities, collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and other technicians to address plant issues, manage permit requests, and ensure the safety and functionality of critical equipment.

You will have a strong technical background gained within the chemical, or process sectors with experience of COMAH sites.

More information on the Instrument Technician position:

  • Preventative Maintenance.
  • Prepare permit requests.
  • Produce method statements and risk assessments.
  • Fault finding equipment failures, identifying issues and then providing solutions within agreed timescale.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of safety critical equipment.
  • Calibration, inspection and modify instrumented systems across the plant.
  • CMMS recording of maintenance activities.
  • Supervision responsibilities during absence and holiday cover when required.

The Instrument Technician will have:

  • An ONC and a recognised apprenticeship Level 3 or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of ATEX and DSEAR and previous experience of working within Chemical/ downstream Oil & Gas or associated major accident hazard process industries.
  • CompEX certification Ex01 to Ex04.
  • Understanding of Distributed Control Systems.
  • Installation and commissioning experience
  • 18th edition regulations

Salary & Benefits:

  • Salary per annum up to £42,000
