Job Title: Mortgage Recoveries Associate

The role
- The technical litigation team deal with a variety of more complex issues covering Mortgage Recoveries, ABL, Unsecured and Commercial Lending. The role is predominantly within the Mortgage Recoveries sphere but with opportunities to work across the other specialist technical litigation teams.
- Within Mortgage Recoveries the team deals with complex and defended mortgage possession claims, including fraud, undue influence, overriding interests and other third-party challenges to possession, title rectification, professional negligence and acting for receivers appointed by lenders.
- Technical litigation also supports other teams within the business dealing with volume mortgage recoveries and sales on behalf of lenders.
Main responsibilities
- You will need to be used to running a complex/defended litigation caseload with minimal supervision
- Willing and able to supervise juniors in the immediate team but also support the wider volume teams.
- Familiar with working closely with clients - managing key relationships and be accustomed to presenting to them in review meetings.
- An enthusiasm for business and product development
- A commitment to finding innovative ways to provide an outstanding service for clients.
Skills and qualifications
- 0-4 years' experience in a mortgage, property and/or commercial litigation environment is desirable
- Experience dealing with the Land Registry and residential property is desirable
- Qualified Solicitor or FILEX preferable or equivalent experience
- CPR experience essential.
- Proven experience in similar roles is essential.
